りんごのパーツを英語でどういう？ ～ apple core

今回はりんごの「パーツ」の英語表現をご紹介します。皮、芯、茎などの名詞の他に、「剥く」、「芯を取る」などの動詞も。英語でレシピを書くときにお役立てください。また、例文ではりんごについての豆知識をご紹介します。

皮

りんごの皮は皮膚と同じく、skin といいます。りんごの皮を「剥く」という意味の動詞は pare または、peel です。

      Apple skins contain lots of fiber and polyphenols.
      りんごの皮にはたくさんの繊維とポリフェノールが含まれています。

      We pared 2 kilograms of apples to make apple pies.
      アップルパイを作るために2キロのりんごの皮むきをしました。

剥いた皮は skin とも、peel とも呼びます。

      My mom puts apple peels in the teapot when she makes tea.
      紅茶を入れるとき、母はティーポットの中にりんごの皮を入れます。

      I keep the apple skins on when I cook them.
      りんごの煮るときには皮を（剥かずに）そのままにしています。

りんごの果肉 

りんごの果肉は pulp や flesh といいます。

      Peel the apple and puree the pulp.
      りんごの皮を剥いて、果肉を摩り下ろします。

しかし、日常的に pulp や flesh を使う人はあまり多くないと思います。「りんごを摩り下ろす」と表現した方が自然でしょう。

      Peel the apple and puree it.
      りんごの皮を剥いて、（それを）摩り下ろします。

りんごの芯 

りんごの芯は core 。丸い物の中心はすべて core (コア）といいます、地球も、ゴルフボール。もちろん、中が空洞ではないものに限ります。

      He peeled the apple, removed the core and sliced it into eight pieces.
      彼はりんごの皮を剥いて、芯を取り除き、8個に切り分けました。

Core は「芯を取り除く」という意味の動詞として使うことができます。

      Would you help me core the apples?
      りんごの芯を取り除くのを手伝ってもらえる？

りんごの茎 

りんごの茎は stem, stalk といいます。

      The stem of an apple contains lots of iron.
      りんごの茎には多くの鉄分が含まれています。

りんごのたね 

りんごのたねは seeds, pips です。

      Apple seeds contain amygdalin, which is converted into cyanide when the seeds are chewed or crushed. Never eat apple pips.
      リンゴの種子にはアミグダリンが含まれており、噛み砕く、または、粉砕するとシアン化物に変化します。絶対に食べてはいけません。
