義理の友達？

もう一つの「友達の友達」という意味での表現は friend-in-law です。In-law を家族関係の名詞と組み合わせると、「義理の〜」と言う意味になります。Mother-in-law (義理の母)は自分の母親ではなく、結婚相手の母親と言う具合に。

Friend-in-law は「友達の友達」、「結婚相手や恋人の友達」など「自分の友達ではない連れ」と言う意味で使われます。
