「帽子をかぶる、かぶっている」に関する英語表現

今回は帽子を「かぶる、かぶっている」という意味の英語表現をご紹介します。また「帽子をかぶっている人」というフレースも。

（これから）帽子をかぶる

「帽子をかぶる」は句動詞 put on で表現します。目的語は名詞と代名詞では位置が違います。

代名詞は必ず put と on の間に入れます。

      A: I wonder if I'd look good in this cap.
      B: Put it on and see.
      A: 私、この帽子が似合うかな？
      B: かぶってみるといいよ。

名詞の場合は put on の後でも、put + 名詞 + on でも OK です。

      Put on a hat. It's very sunny today.
      今日は日差しが強いから帽子をかぶりなさい。

      I put on my blue hat but it didn't go well with my sweater.
      青い帽子をかぶってみたけど、セーターと合わなかった。

（帽子を）かぶっている　have on

「かぶっている」は have on と be wearing の2通りの表現があります。

Have on の目的語のルールは put on と同じです。

      I have on my new Mariners ball cap.
      新しいマリナーズの帽子をかぶっています。

      Is that your old fedora? I remember you had it on all the time.
      あれは昔の君のフェドラハット？いつもかぶっていたのを覚えている。

（帽子を）かぶっている　be wearing

Be wearing という表現はよく知られていると思います。現在進行系の表現は「かぶっている」「かぶるつもり」の二通りの使い方ができます。

      A. Is that your friend? The guy at the counter?

      B. No, I think he is wearing a red ball cap.

      A. あれが君の友達？カウンターの前の人？

      B. いや、多分赤い野球帽を被っていると思う。

      Are you wearing that wool cap? It's kind of warm today.

      あのニット帽をかぶるつもり？今日は結構温かいよ。

帽子をかぶっている人

写真に写っている人物を指し示すときなどに便利な表現です。次の例文の（the）one は「人」「男性」「女の子」などの代名詞です。

人物 + in the +（色）+ 帽子

      A. Which one is your dad?

      B. He's the tall man in the blue hat.

      A. どの人がお父さん？

      B. 青い帽子をかぶった背の高い男の人。
